Hughes Sales is a food brokerage specializing in perishable food sales and marketing. The core territory of Hughes Sales is the Mid Atlantic market which encompasses Maryland, DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, eastern Kentucky and eastern Tennessee.
As perishable food specialists, Michael and Linda Hughes formed Hughes Sales over twenty one years ago to concentrate in the Mid Atlantic perishable food arena. Perishable food sales was an area they felt was neglected by the then-Regional (National) Food Brokers.
Hughes Sales has grown from three people twenty one years ago to twenty people today. Hughes Sales includes five Account Executives with perishable Headquarter/Distributor food sales responsibility, a strong retail force focusing on store calls and necessary resets in all the perishable food departments, and an experienced professional office support staff to handle orders, deductions and other necessities of today's perishable food sales business.
With offices in Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia, Hughes Sales is well positioned to attack the entire Mid-Atlantic market. Our continued growth is due to our philosophy of hard work, excellent follow through and thorough communication both internally and externally.
Our coverage is broad as we realize the sales from the "smaller" accounts add up. As the perishable food business and market continues to change, we have the ability to quickly react and continue to grow, instead of getting bogged down in corporate chaos. Headquarter coverage includes the accounts doing business in the Mid-Atlantic market, regardless of location. This includes chain wide coverage of Safeway Eastern, Ahold, SuperValu, Weis, Food City, Redners and all Independents.
